Make Music Ridgefield, CT Matching Site

Make Music Day Ridgefield is an outgrowth of the Fete de la Musique, which originated in France in 1982. The event began as a call to musicians in Paris to perform on the streets on June 21, the solstice. Four decades later, the holiday has spread worldwide and is now celebrated in more than 2,000 cities in 120 countries. In 2006, the Fête de la Musique crossed the Atlantic with the debut of Make Music New York. On June 21, 2025, 147 U.S. cities hosted 5,471 free concerts. Ridgefield was proud to feature 17 venues and 80 performances, showcasing more than 100 musicians. This initiative highlights Ridgefield’s vibrant arts community and celebrates the musician in everyone, connecting performers and audiences while bringing live music to streets, businesses, and public spaces throughout town. Make Music Ridgefield is organized by the Ridgefield Arts Council, a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization appointed by the Town of Ridgefield. This initiative aims to highlight Ridgefield’s vibrant arts community and celebrate the musician in everyone. Make Music Day connects musicians with the community, bringing new artistic creations to life through live performances throughout the town. Ridgefield is joining the worldwide celebration throughout the town on Sunday, June 21, 2026. Sign up to participate as an Artist or Venue. Come join the fun!!
